Loralie Smith represented River Oaks last week at ALA Louisiana Girls State. She was selected as one of two senators to represent Louisiana at Girls Nation in Washington DC in July. To be eligible for an interview, she was required to submit an original piece of legislature and answer multiple essay questions.
For seven days, ALA Girls Nation senators hold mock senate sessions which require them to write, caucus, and debate bills; campaign for elected office; elect an ALA Girls Nation president and vice president; and work together to pass legislation.
We are very proud of you, Loralie!
